Description:

The Live Oak Tavern is seeking an experienced and driven Service Manager to join our leadership team.


The Service Manager plays a pivotal role in the overall success of the restaurant. This individual is a hands-on leader who sets the standard for service excellence, cultivates a high-performing team, and ensures the guest experience reflects the values and vision of The Live Oak Tavern.

Requirements:

People

  • Ensure the restaurant is 100% staffed, hiring high quality people who demonstrate and exceed standards. Responsible for filling all service positions in store.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance with flexible availability. The Service Manager must have open availability, meaning a flexible schedule (not fixed) and be able to cover shifts on short notice. The The Service Manager must be available whenever needed during operating hours which includes working nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ensures all employees are trained, motivated and empowered to deliver total customer satisfaction. Evaluates each employee’s ability to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent coaching and tracking.
  • Continuously improves the skills, knowledge and morale of all employees. The The Service Manager must treat all coworkers and employees with dignity and respect; creates an environment where the entire team does the same.
  • Participates in progressive discipline and employee terminations in partnership with Management.
  • Complete semi-annual performance appraisals for all team members.
  • Strives to develop qualified team members for advancement through mentorship and performance tracking.
  • Enforces all labor laws (federal, state and local).


Sales/Operations

  • Meets or exceeds the financial budget requirements.
  • Email and phone correspondence completed daily
  • Conducts daily, weekly and monthly audits of all operations to ensure food safety compliance and proper repair and maintenance of all equipment
  • Follows procedures to maintain the safety and security of all employees, customers and company assets (building, cash, equipment, supplies).
  • Ensures food safety standards. All managers must be Servsafe (or food handler equivalent) certified.


Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a full-service or upscale casual environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire a diverse team
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, labor, and food costs
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences
