SportsMED is actively seeking a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon to join our thriving team in Huntsville, Alabama. This unique position offers the ideal candidate the opportunity to collaborate within a leading healthcare environment, ensuring a balanced workload and rewarding experience while building a successful practice.

Founded in 1995, SportsMED has evolved into one of Alabama's largest and most diverse orthopaedic and spine care centers, embodying our commitment to orthopaedic excellence.

  • Team includes 25 physicians and 24 advanced practice providers, including 4 fellowship-trained spine surgeons.
  • Integrated on-site services for streamlined care: MRI, Physical & Occupational Therapy, DME, Orthotics & Prosthetics, Urgent Care & Injection Therapy.
  • Utilizes ModMed EMR system for efficient documentation.
  • New, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center opening in early 2027, staffed with experienced spine personnel.

Spine Surgery Role Highlights

  • Clinical Focus: Primarily degenerative spine cases, with a typical surgical case mix of 60% lumbar / 40% cervical.
  • Schedule: Balanced workload with 2.5 clinic days and 2.5 OR days per week.
  • Call: Spine call is shared among the spine surgeons for a single hospital, described as "easily manageable."

Education & Experience Requirements
