What is a live in fintech professional?

A Live In Fintech professional typically refers to someone who lives onsite or in close proximity to a fintech startup or company, often as part of an accelerator, incubator, or intensive program. These professionals are deeply involved in developing and growing financial technology solutions, working alongside founders, engineers, and other stakeholders. Their roles can range from technical development to business strategy, and they often benefit from immersive environments that foster rapid innovation and close collaboration. Living onsite can help them more easily network, participate in workshops, and respond quickly to business needs. This setup is common in fintech hubs and during startup bootcamps.

What are some of the unique challenges faced by professionals working in a live-in fintech role, and how can they prepare for them?

Professionals in live-in fintech positions often face the challenge of balancing intense work schedules with personal boundaries, as they may be required to live onsite or closely integrate with the company's operations. This can blur the lines between work and personal life, making time management and setting clear boundaries crucial. Additionally, live-in fintech roles may involve rapid response to technical issues and close collaboration with cross-functional teams, requiring adaptability and strong communication skills. To prepare, candidates should develop resilience, establish routines for self-care, and be comfortable with a fast-paced, dynamic environment typical of fintech startups.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fintech professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fintech Professional, you generally need strong analytical skills, a background in finance or technology, and often a relevant degree in finance, computer science, or engineering. Familiarity with technical tools like blockchain platforms, data analytics software, programming languages (such as Python or SQL), and industry certifications (like CFA or Fintech-focused credentials) is typical. Standout professionals also demonstrate adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills to bridge gaps between technical and business teams. These skills are crucial for innovating and delivering secure, user-friendly financial solutions in a rapidly evolving industry.

Job description

About Coinflow
Coinflow is the next-generation payment service provider revolutionizing global financial infrastructure with stablecoins, AI-driven fraud prevention, and instant settlement. Coinflow enables businesses to grow faster with instant settlement, fraud & chargeback indemnity, global pay-ins, multi-currency FX, and unified payouts. Founded in 2023, the company serves marketplaces, fintechs, remittance providers, gaming platforms, and ecommerce merchants worldwide.
Since our seed round in 2024, we've achieved 23x revenue growth and scaled to multi-billion-dollar annual transaction volume. In response to this growth, Coinflow announced a $25M Series A in October 2025-led by Pantera Capital, CMT Digital, Coinbase Ventures, Jump Crypto, and Reciprocal Ventures-accelerating our mission to power the world's fastest-moving businesses with innovative, reliable global payments.
Coinflow is proudly headquartered in Chicago, IL. Learn more at coinflow.cash.
About the role
We're hiring a Front End Engineer - not a designer who occasionally codes, and not an engineer who occasionally opens Figma. This person is equally comfortable defining the interaction model for a new feature and shipping the React that powers it. You'll be the first dedicated front end engineering hire at Coinflow, which means you're not inheriting a design system - you're building it.
You'll work directly with the CTO and founding engineers, moving from rough product idea to shipped, polished UI without a handoff in between.
What you'll do
  • Build and own our design system on top of shadcn/ui and Tailwind - components, tokens, patterns, and documentation that the rest of engineering can build on without asking you first.
  • Design and ship full features end-to-end: wireframe or go straight to high-fidelity, build the actual production component, wire it to real data, and iterate based on how it feels in practice.
  • Redesign and modernize existing surfaces - merchant onboarding, dashboards, checkout flows - that were built for speed, not polish.
  • Set the visual direction for a fintech product that needs to feel trustworthy, fast, and precise - this is a payments platform, not a consumer app, and the design language should reflect that.
  • Make architecture decisions about component composition, theming, and reusability that will hold up as the product surface area grows.
  • Collaborate closely with backend engineers to make sure the front end accurately represents genuinely complex systems (multi-chain settlement, card networks, fraud/risk states) without dumbing them down.

What we're looking for
  • Strong command of shadcn/ui, Radix primitives, Tailwind CSS, and React/TypeScript - you should be able to talk through why shadcn's composition model works the way it does, not just how to install components.
  • A portfolio or GitHub history showing products you designed and built yourself, start to finish - not just Dribbble shots or isolated component libraries.
  • Real product design judgment: typography, spacing, color systems, information hierarchy, and the ability to simplify complex, data-heavy interfaces (we're a payments and financial infrastructure product).
  • Comfort owning ambiguity - you'll often be the one deciding what the right interaction pattern is, not implementing someone else's spec.
  • Experience building or significantly extending a design system in a real production codebase, including versioning, theming, and documentation practices that scale past one person using it.
  • Bonus: experience in fintech, crypto, or other data-dense, trust-sensitive product categories.
  • Bonus: familiarity with Next.js, React Native, or motion/animation libraries (Framer Motion, GSAP).

How we work
Small team, high trust, low process. You'll ship things that go live within days, not sprints. We care much more about taste and craft holding up under real usage than about pixel-perfect specs that never ship.
The base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $180,000 USD. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, skills, qualifications and business needs.
In addition, the employee who fills this role will be eligible for an equity grant, allowing you to share in the long-term success of the company. You will also have access to a wide array of benefits, including health and wellness benefits, 401(k) savings plan, and flexible time off.
Join the team rewriting how money moves worldwide-and become a driving force in the $194 trillion cross-border payments market.
