Korn Ferry has partnered with our client, 340B Health, in a search for a
Senior Director, Legal & Policy to help lead legal, regulatory and policy advocacy related to the federal 340B drug pricing program.
Based in Washington, DC, 340B Health represents more than 1,600 public and private nonprofit hospitals and health systems participating in the 340B program, supporting hospitals that serve low-income, underserved and rural patients.
This is a high-impact role for someone who brings deep 340B, healthcare policy and regulatory expertise, and who can turn complex legal and policy issues into clear advocacy, member education and practical guidance. The Senior Director will educate members and stakeholders on 340B compliance, policy and advocacy issues, while taking a leading role in strategic planning, goal setting and updates to the Board of Directors.
The Role
- Lead legal, policy and regulatory advocacy work related to the 340B program, including legal analyses, policy proposals, agency letters and comments on proposed guidance and regulations.
- Oversee advocacy efforts with Coalition organizations and allied organizations, including trade associations and foundations.
- Manage state advocacy efforts, including member resources, updates on state developments, and support for state-specific advocacy needs.
- Partner with Legal and Policy Division leaders to identify areas requiring policy development, advocacy or legal action, then help develop and execute action plans.
- Create member-facing and external materials, including articles, communications, educational resources and presentations for conferences, webinars and roundtables.
- Support conference planning, including agenda development, session planning, speaker vetting, and presentation review.
- Provide guidance on research, writing projects, advocacy strategies, and tactics, while working with consultants, researchers, and internal teams.
The Ideal Candidate
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical policy, Medicare, Medicaid, hospital issues and the regulatory landscape impacting 340B.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex regulations, information and data, and communicate clearly with members and stakeholders through reports and detailed analyses.
- Experience with 340B that is transferable to a trade association setting.
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
- A Juris Doctorate is preferred, or a master's degree in public policy.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in public or private practice healthcare, with emphasis on 340B pharmacy expertise. Relevant backgrounds may include private practice law firm experience, hospital or clinical settings, academic medical or pharmacy operations, healthcare associations, or congressional offices supporting related policy and advocacy work.
Compensation: Base salary range is $200K to $280K, plus a 10% annual bonus.
Location: Washington, DC/Hybrid (3 days in office).
Must live in Maryland, Virginia or Washington, DC.
Some travel is required.
