What is live in farming?

A Live In Farming job typically involves working on a farm while living on-site, often in provided housing. Responsibilities can vary but may include planting, harvesting, feeding livestock, maintaining equipment, and other farm-related tasks. These jobs are common on organic farms, vineyards, and ranches, where hands-on labor is needed daily. Many positions offer room and board as part of the compensation. Live-in farming jobs can be seasonal or long-term, depending on the farm's needs.

What are the typical living and working arrangements for live in farming?

Live In Farming positions generally provide accommodation onsite, ranging from private rooms in the main house to separate cottages or farm housing. The work schedule often follows the natural routines of farming, with early mornings and seasonal variation in workload, including weekends or longer hours during busy periods such as planting or harvest. Team sizes can vary, but you’ll often collaborate closely with farm owners, other laborers, and sometimes temporary seasonal workers. Living onsite facilitates stronger teamwork and immediate response to farm needs, but also requires a willingness to adapt to rural lifestyles and shared spaces. Many find this setup rewarding due to the sense of community and direct engagement with the farming process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in live in farming, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Live In Farming role, you need practical experience in agricultural work, basic animal husbandry, and knowledge of crop cultivation, often supported by a relevant background or on-the-job training. Familiarity with farm machinery, irrigation systems, and, at times, certifications in pesticide use or first aid is advantageous. Strong work ethic, adaptability to rural living, and good communication skills are essential soft skills for this lifestyle. These skills ensure that you can manage the daily and seasonal demands of a working farm while integrating effectively with farm owners and other team members.

Can you make a living off of live in farming?

Live-in farming jobs can provide a source of income, but earnings vary based on factors such as location, responsibilities, and experience. Many live-in farm roles are considered low-wage or part-time, so additional income sources or skills may be necessary for a sustainable living. Successful farm workers often combine farming with other agricultural or related work to improve earnings.

Base Compensation: $150,000 to $200,000
Earning Potential: Extra shifts at $115/hour + Quality Incentive Bonus up to $12,000

About the Opportunity

She Recruits is excited to bring you an exceptional opportunity for a Neonatology Nurse Practitioner in the heart of Portland, OR. This hospital-based role is your chance to make a difference in the tiniest lives while enjoying a supportive team and a thriving city. If pediatrics, neonates, and acute care are your jam, this job might just be love at first sight.

Why You’ll Love It Here:

  • Patient Load: See 10-25 patients per day (tiny but mighty lives in your capable hands).
  • Schedule: Flexible 12- or 24-hour shifts Monday through Saturday.
  • Responsibilities: Supervise other healthcare providers, lead with expertise, and support with compassion.
  • Privileges: 60-90 days to onboard, but once you’re in, it’s smooth sailing—or maybe smooth swaddling.

Benefits & Perks (It’s a Package Deal!)
  • Paid Time Off: 264 hours (33 days for those 8-hour day planners), allocated upfront.
  • CME Support: $3,000 and 80 hours to keep your skills razor-sharp.
  • Malpractice Insurance: Claims-based with coverage that works like a tail policy—because we’ve got your back.
  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000 to get you here stress-free.
  • Sign-On Bonus: $10,000-$15,000 to say “Welcome!” the right way.
  • Retirement Plan: Robust 401K because your future matters.
  • Comprehensive Insurance: Health, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD—you name it, we’ve got it.

What We’re Looking For:

We need an experienced Neonatology NP who:

  • Thrives in an inpatient/acute care setting with pediatrics and neonates.
  • Holds current NRP certification (because neonatal resuscitation is critical).
  • Is ready to jump in and lead, supervising other healthcare providers with confidence.

Why Portland?

Sure, it rains a bit, but that’s just nature watering the lush greenery, beautiful parks, and year-round farmer’s markets. Portland offers:

  • A foodie paradise (yes, the donuts live up to the hype).
  • Endless outdoor adventures (hiking, biking, kayaking—choose your thrill).
  • A quirky, creative community where you can truly be yourself.

P.S. We know you’re busy saving lives, but take a minute to picture this: A fulfilling role, a generous compensation package, and a chance to live in one of the coolest cities in the Pacific Northwest. It’s all here, waiting for you!

Whether you’re ready to apply or just curious to learn more, let’s chat. Call or email us today. Because opportunities like this? They don’t last longer than a Portland food truck line at lunch hour.

Cheers to new beginnings,
