Job description

Corner Table Restaurants is looking for a Maitre'd to join our team at The Smith!
The Smith is an established American brasserie with four bustling locations in Manhattan - East Village, Midtown, Lincoln Center and Nomad. All of our locations are large, high energy and high volume restaurants with fun bars, great food and warm hospitality.
The Smith serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner featuring a selection of farm fresh, familiar and creative bistro dishes using local, natural and sustainable ingredients.
As a Smith Maitre'd you must be friendly, outgoing, and possess great communication skills. A guest's dinner and/or bar experience should be equally enjoyable and you will play a major role in the overall picture. Your main responsibilities include:
- Greet guests and seat guests with menus.
- All guests must be treated in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Refer to VG's by name when appropriate.
- Take names at the door and make sure that reservations are seated immediately.
- Manage the floor plan board.
- Clean, organize, and stock menus at host area.
- Answer phone and answer questions concerning the menu and the restaurant.
- Interact with guests in and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience.

- The candidate should be highly confident in his/her abilities and be detail-oriented.
- Proven team player and have excellent communication skills.
- Genuinely getting joy out of making people happy, being able to have fun, having a sense of humor and enjoyment of working in the hospitality world.

- Food and Beverage knowledge.
- Willingness to go above and beyond to please guests.
- Previous host restaurant experience a plus.
- Full-Time open availability required.
