  • Full Time - 2nd Shift (3pm – 11:30pm)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment assigned to you.
  • Perform machine repairs based upon a maintenance call or an assignment in a timely fashion.
  • Troubleshoot support system problems using basic problem solving skills.
  • Complete all standard work orders and preventative maintenance tasks assigned and submit all completed paperwork.
  • Record information in required logbooks for systems history and continuous improvement.
  • Record any parts/components used for repairs to ensure replenishment of On-Hand balances are maintained,
  • Ensure quality standards set by the company are adhered to after PM’s and/or repairs are made to equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the areas you are working in; properly dispose of the parts/components you have replaced.
  • Promote a safe and harmonious work environment with adherence to company policy, procedures, safety and health regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with S.Q.F. Certification.
  • Perform and carry out other duties and tasks, as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience within the mechanical field; working with boilers, air compressors, air handling units and HVAC is a plus.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

  • Technical training or electrical/mechanical technician degree, or verifiable comparable experience.
  • Food manufacturing background is a plus.
  • Must be able to operate forklifts and pallet jacks (electric/manual).
  • Experience with programmable logic controller, instruments and controls is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS DESIRED:

  • Industrial Electric
  • PLC Programming
  • Instrumentation Control Technician

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to fill out routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and convey information to other employees.

MATHAMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms above shoulder height, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear and taste and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. With other mechanics may have to occasionally lift parts in excess of 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must be able to stand to open files and operate office equipment or mechanical equipment; mobility between departments or physical locations, and attend meetings of coworkers and management.

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works near moving mechanical equipment. The employee often works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and cleaning chemicals. Personal protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn per company policies.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection may be required with some jobs.

Pay: $29.15 - $31.15 USD per hour*

*The hourly rate as indicated in the CBA. The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package.
