Job description

Position Summary...Global Procurement is responsible for sourcing goods and services not for resale (GNFR). This responsibility spans end-to-end procurement; from collaborating with our business partners and developing requirements to negotiating with suppliers to deliver best in class supplier partnerships. Global Procurement adds value through ensuring quality and service levels are met, negotiating savings, driving innovation, adhering to compliance, and focusing on supplier diversity and sustainability. Procurement is responsible for the selection of suppliers and their overall performance on behalf of the business teams we support.
About the Position:
Walmart’s Global Sourcing & Procurement – Energy team sits at the heart of one of the world’s largest corporate sustainability portfolios. We drive end‑to‑end sourcing strategy across On‑Site renewables (solar, BESS, microgrids) and Off‑Site energy programs, partnering with Finance, Legal, Facilities, and executive leadership to deliver measurable cost efficiency and decarbonization outcomes at enterprise scale. What you'll do...
  • Develop and execute a structured energy procurement roadmap encompassing large, multi‑year capital and operating spend, including competitive EPC RFx programs spanning dozens of projects across the portfolio.
  • Disaggregate On‑Site developer models to establish scalable sourcing architectures for OEM, EPC, and O&M components—unlocking sourcing optionality and reducing margin stacking.
  • Lead Safe Harbor equipment procurement to capture long‑term ITC value, and manage deregulated electricity and natural gas sourcing programs across U.S. and international markets.
  • Build and maintain robust energy market intelligence to strengthen negotiation posture and proactively mitigate regulatory, tariff, and geopolitical risk.
  • Align cross‑functional stakeholders across Energy Transformation, Finance, Legal, and Facilities—positioning procurement as a strategic partner in capital planning and investment decisions.

What you’ll bring:
  • 2+ years of procurement or sourcing experience, including 1+ years in energy, utilities, construction, or other technical categories, with demonstrated ownership of material, enterprise‑level spend.
  • Deep knowledge of energy procurement, including On‑Site renewables (solar, BESS, EPCs), Off‑Site markets (deregulated electricity and gas, PPAs, tax equity), and IRA/ITC incentive structures.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to translate complex energy economics into clear, executive‑ready sourcing strategies and recommendations.
  • Proven RFx development and execution track record, delivering measurable value through competitive sourcing, commercial innovation, and disaggregation strategies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or energy‑industry certifications (e.g., PE, CEP, CEM) strongly preferred.
