Job Summary:
Salas O'Brien is looking to fill an entry-level Energy Engineer position to support our energy and decarbonization work on a project and portfolio level. Job tasks include supporting energy efficiency, sustainability and decarbonization initiatives to meet carbon reduction goals in the built environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support energy audit and carbon reduction assessments.
  • Perform energy benchmarking and utility analysis.
  • Assist project and senior engineers perform energy, decarbonization and retro-commissioning studies.
  • Conduct energy calculations and economic analysis for low-carbon retrofit solutions.
  • Conduct energy modeling using eQuest and IESVE software.
  • Perform site visits and data collection to document existing conditions.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in engineering.
  • EIT Certification preferred but not required with a willingness to obtain in 1-2 years.
  • Interest in building decarbonization.
  • College coursework focused on the built environment and building decarbonization.
  • Should have basic knowledge of New York City climate and carbon-related local laws.

Location: New York City
Compensation & Benefits:
The expected base salary range for this role is $70,000-$85,000 USD per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills, project experience and qualifications.
This role is also eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive U.S. based benefits package, including:
