Type: Part-time (weekends/holidays required) - up to 32 hrs / week
Position SummaryYou’ll be the steady, detail-oriented caretaker behind a clean, calm, and comfortable boarding experience. From precise feeding/meds and spotless suites to timely welfare checks and great notes for pet parents, you ensure every overnight guest is safe, healthy, and feeling at home.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Care & Welfare- Complete scheduled rounds and welfare checks; monitor appetite, elimination, stress, and sleep.
- Deliver accurate feeding per owner/vet instructions (meals, supplements, special diets).
- Administer medications per protocol; document doses in Gingr.
- Prepare enrichment/relief breaks; provide calm handling and decompression.
Sanitation & Facility Standards- Clean/turn suites to hospitalgrade standards (correct dilution, dwell times, PPE).
- Maintain clean aisles, laundry rotation, dishes, and odor control throughout shifts.
- Complete and log cleaning checklists; escalate maintenance needs.
Safety & Records- Follow crosscontamination controls and isolation procedures; complete incident reports.
- Keep accurate records in Gingr (feeding/meds/notes), and shift handoffs that are clear and complete.
Client Communication & Teaming- Write daily boarding updates/report cards with a photo and quick status.
- Support lobby handoffs as needed; be courteous, solutionoriented, and professional. Dressed appropriately.
- Collaborate with Play Yard Coaches, Grooming, and Front Desk to keep days running smoothly.
Requirements- 612+ months animalhandling experience (boarding/daycare, shelter/kennel, vet assistant) preferred.
- Comfortable with feeding protocols, basic meds, canine body language, and lowstress handling.
- Tech: Gingr (or similar), checklists, and basic photo/video on mobile.
- Physical: stand/walk 610 hrs; lift/move 50 lb; work indoor/outdoor in all seasons; frequent bending.
- Reliable, coachable, detailobsessed; communicates clearly and keeps calm under pressure.
- Preferred: Pet First Aid/CPR and FearFree/LowStress Handling (or complete within 60 days).
Summary of Duties (typical shift)
- Open/close boarding wing; safety walk; set up meals/meds/enrichment.
- Run rounds, relief breaks, feedings, meds, and laundry on schedule.
- Turn and sanitize suites efficiently; restock supplies.
- Document behavior/health notes & incidents; create report cards with a photo.
- Endofshift reset and checklist signoff.
