Our Vision

To develop a ministry and community where faith formation and relational belonging go hand in hand—where every child, youth and adults knows the love of God and knows that they are a valuable part of the body of Christ. As each child grows in stature, Christ Church’s Faith Formation process will smoothly and consistently provide segues to the next age group until they are adults, fully integrated into Christ Church’s spiritual growth and continuous discipleship.

We seek a leader who will help us create a cohesive, joyful, and spiritually rich journey from birth through adulthood—marked by meaningful traditions, deep relationships, and growing faith in Jesus Christ.

Christ Church United Methodist seeks a Spirit-led, personable, and visionary leader to serve as Pastor / Director of Discipleship Ministries. This full-time clergy leader will guide a cohesive discipleship ministry strategy, from birth through adolescence to adulthood.

The Director will cultivate spiritually vibrant, relationally connected, and developmentally appropriate ministries that aid and support children’s, youth, and adult’s growth as disciples of Jesus Christ. This role is designed to facilitate members’ spiritual growth across every stage of their lives.

  • Together with other discipleship staff, serve as liaison to other Christ Church ministries to integrate children and youth into worship and the life of the church.

Spiritual Formation

  • Creating a culture of developmental growth through relationships and shared understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
  • Create environments where children youth and adults deepen their relationship with Christ while creatively forming meaningful relationships with one another and the wider church.

  • Foster strong peer relationships at church.
  • Expand engagement opportunities for all ages.
  • Create predictable traditions and consistent rhythms.

Intergenerational Engagement, Mission, & Service

  • Develop intergenerational and family events and occasions around holidays, traditions, and seasonal themes.
  • Creating clear, accessible paths for adults of all ages to grow deeper in their walk with Jesus Christ.

Volunteer Leadership

  • Ensure age-appropriate programming.
  • Working with other discipleship leaders, resource and support existing Sunday School classes, small groups, and ministries with discipleship guidance, tools and curriculum, and begin new classes to sustain anticipated growth.

Desired Qualities
