Job description

We are looking for a Database Administrator to join a team supporting complex enterprise database environments. This opportunity is ideal for someone who excels at maintaining stable, secure, and efficient database systems while partnering with technical teams to solve performance and availability challenges. The role centers on administration, optimization, recovery planning, and continuous improvement across Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server platforms.


Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain enterprise database platforms, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, to support reliable day-to-day operations.

• Monitor database health proactively, investigate issues quickly, and take corrective action to improve stability and system performance.

• Analyze execution behavior and refine database structures or queries to strengthen response times and overall efficiency.

• Develop, manage, and validate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to protect critical data and maintain business continuity.

• Plan and perform database patching, upgrades, and version evaluations while minimizing operational risk.

• Configure and support clustered database environments, including troubleshooting failover and high-availability related issues.

• Work closely with application and development teams to resolve database-related incidents, support releases, and align technical solutions with business needs.

• Maintain clear operational documentation, track service requests through resolution, and respond to alerts or escalations within established service expectations.

• Hands-on experience administering Oracle databases, including versions such as 12c, 19c, or newer, in a production environment.
• Strong background with Microsoft SQL Server and related database administration responsibilities in enterprise settings.
• Practical expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and diagnosing database or application bottlenecks.
• Experience creating and supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for mission-critical systems.
• Familiarity with clustered or high-availability database configurations and the ability to troubleshoot related issues.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database scripting, with the ability to support developers and operational teams effectively.
• Exposure to cloud-based database services such as Azure SQL Database, along with experience in environments that include MySQL, is preferred.
