What jobs make $1,000,000 a year?

In the field of data analysis and development, earning $1,000,000 annually is rare and typically involves executive roles such as Chief Data Officer or senior data executives in large corporations, often combined with bonuses, stock options, or profit sharing. High-level roles requiring extensive experience, advanced skills in data management, analytics, and leadership are more likely to reach this income level, especially in industries like finance, technology, or consulting. Most data analysts and developers earn significantly less, with top earners reaching high six-figure or low seven-figure salaries through leadership positions or entrepreneurial ventures.

What jobs pay 200,000 a year in the USA?

In the USA, high-paying roles for data analysts or developers, such as senior data scientists, data engineering managers, or lead analytics developers, can reach or exceed $200,000 annually with extensive experience, advanced skills in programming, machine learning, and data architecture, and often require certifications or advanced degrees. These positions are typically found in large corporations, finance, technology, or consulting firms and may involve leadership responsibilities or specialized expertise.

What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

For a Live In Data Analyst Developer, annual salaries of $300,000 or more are typically found in senior or executive roles such as data science directors, chief data officers, or specialized consulting positions. About Mathematica:

Mathematica offers our employees competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package, as well as the advantages of being 100 percent employee owned. We are seeking an intellectually curious Data Analytics Developer in any of our locations with experience in data management and statistical programming for data analytic and research projects in the Education and Employment area. The Data Analytics Developer will contribute to intensive data wrangling, advanced programming, administrative data collection and/or data management tasks. They will also apply knowledge of programs, policy, and/or data content, as well as econometric and statistical methods, when they acquire, clean, manipulate, manage, and analyze data. These tasks will most often be accomplished using a combination of statistical programming packages like R and Stata, as well as SQL and Python, on both cloud-hosted and more traditional platforms. Individuals with an interest in confronting the challenges of working with large, complex data sets, an interest in data manipulation and analysis, and a desire to become a subject matter expert in education and employment data are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Write programs in R, Stata, or Python to extract, transform, and wrangle data; create variables for use in analysis.
  • Perform statistical analyses and prepare tables, graphs, and visualizations
  • Providing creative and best practice solutions for data processing optimization
  • Ensuring data quality through all stages of data processing with rigorous quality control
  • Iteratively informing requirements and specifications, which will include articulating findings and working with researchers to adjust specifications and code as interim results are found

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in economics, data analytics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, or another relevant field
  • 3-5 years of programming experience in a professional or academic environment.
  • Programming experience using R, Stata, Python, or SQL
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work with others.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Subject-matter knowledge of education and/or employment data
  • Has the ability to pass a background investigation or security clearance for federally contracted project work

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $78,000 to $100,000.

To apply, please submit cover letter, resume, location preferences, salary requirements, and code samples via our careers page. Please include a code sample (up to three) which best represents your current programming skills. If you include a GitHub, please call out the specific samples you want to highlight. If you do not have code available in these preferred languages, please send a code sample in an alternate language.

At Mathematica, we understand the importance of building relationships with colleagues. If you're not located near one of our offices but would like opportunities to meet up with co-workers, we offer coworking spaces where available. Ask your Talent Acquisition partner for more information about this opportunity and whether it's an option in your area.

Any offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check. Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully undergo security clearance as a condition of working on the project. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to obtain the requisite security clearance. Additionally, if you participate in or complete the application process and are denied, Mathematica may choose to terminate your employment.

We take pride in our employees and in their commitment to excellence. We encourage staff to collaborate in developing creative solutions to difficult problems and to share the responsibility and enjoyment of carrying out complex projects. This collegial spirit has helped us earn our reputation for innovative and high-quality work.
