Job description

Private Wealth Credit Specialist III

At BOK Financial, our success starts with our incredible talent. We need a credit enthusiast like yourself to join our Private Wealth Underwriting group as a Credit Specialist. Bring your formal credit training to us as we embark on the next chapter in Private Wealth.

The Private Wealth Credit Specialist III is primarily responsible for underwriting large complex financial/credit transactions within the Private Wealth division, and makes credit recommendations based upon findings.

The camaraderie between the teams is excellent and helps foster partnerships. We are a close group, even though we're in different locations. We live by our mission statement. "We are committed to providing prompt, sound underwriting and risk management consistent with the bank's loan policy and overall risk tolerance while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in our relationships with our colleagues and clients."

Private Wealth Underwriting has multiple teams, each with a team lead; however, we do not operate in silos. Each team lead has a working relationship with all team members, and the credit specialist can go to any lead for questions or support. Leaders use different forms of engagement for their teams and accolades are shared widely. Sharing ideas, working on loan structure, and being customer-focused is part of daily life. Each loan is different. You need to be able to prioritize, problem solve, and deliver on time. Continual improvement, idea sharing, tact, diplomacy, and quick thinking drive this team.

Your day will consist of credit conversations, decision making, and communication with Private Wealth Bankers, Credit Risk Managers, Banking Managers, and Advisors. You will work efficiently to get deals approved while mitigating risk. You will prepare sophisticated commercial and consumer financial analysis credits/loans, perform analysis, and make recommendations on loan structure, pricing, and risk rating. You will assume responsibility for recognizing and documenting policy exceptions and for gathering vital information for credit analysis. You'll prepare commitment reports for all the multi-state markets supported by Private Wealth. You'll mentor and train less tenured Credit Specialists and serve as a resource to Private Wealth Bankers for loan underwriting, credit and underwriting guidelines, and policy.

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field of study and 5+ years of directly related experience in credit analysis or 11+ years equivalent combination of education and experience.

Investing in our talent and building a great workplace is a top priority for us.
