ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Construction Project Manager at Z Modular, you will play a key role in overseeing all phases of multi-family modular construction projects, from fabrication through erection and final turnover. This position requires strong project management skills, budget and schedule oversight, and effective collaboration across cross-functional teams. You will contribute directly to ensuring the successful and timely completion of projects, aligning project goals with the needs of construction, logistics, manufacturing, and stakeholders. You will collaborate with internal teams such as construction, logistics, design/engineering, and manufacturing, ensuring that all aspects of the project run smoothly. This is an onsite role located in Chandler, AZ and job sites in Greater Phoenix.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Project Oversight & Planning: 

  • Manage modular construction projects from inception to completion, including budgets, schedules, and scopes of work. 
  • Develop and update project schedules with input from internal teams. 
  • Ensure project milestones and deliverables are met efficiently. 
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while driving innovation and continuous improvement in modular construction workflows and best practices. 

Collaboration & Leadership: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including construction, logistics, design/engineering, and manufacturing groups. 
  • Lead regular project team meetings and coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders. 
  • Resolve conflicts and provide clear direction to project teams, fostering accountability and teamwork. 
  • Support the professional growth of Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators, aligning team efforts with project goals. 

Budgeting & Financial Management: 

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules of values, and financial tracking systems. 
  • Monitor costs and manage change orders with subcontractors, architects, and engineers. 
  • Approve invoices and ensure financial performance aligns with project objectives. 

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination: 

  • Prepare, negotiate, and execute subcontracts and purchase orders. 
  • Evaluate and manage subcontractor and supplier performance. 
  • Oversee material procurement and delivery to meet project timelines. 

Compliance & Safety Oversight: 

  • Ensure on-site activities comply with safety standards and government regulations, promoting health and safety practices. 
  • Obtain necessary permits and ensure adherence to local and federal codes. 
  • Monitor quality control and enforce compliance with project specifications. 

Communication & Reporting: 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, management, and external partners. 
  • Lead weekly OAC meetings (Owner Architect Contractor). 
  • Prepare accurate progress reports, updates, and documentation for stakeholders. 
     
     

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 5โ€“8 years of experience in hands-on construction management, with a focus on modular or multi-family projects.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing project teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Knowledgeable in construction processes, safety standards, and building codes, with expertise in modular manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and change orders.
  • Procore Certification, Project Management Professional (PMP), or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and construction site settings.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
