Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Deal activity across the platform continues to increase, and the Commercialization team is adding junior bandwidth to match it. We are looking for someone with exceptional raw ability early in their career who can develop into a deal maker as the company scales.

You will work directly with senior members of the Commercialization team on the questions behind some of the largest AI infrastructure transactions in the market, including how large scale leases are structured, how power is procured and priced, what customers pay, what security they post, and where supply and demand are heading.

This role is built as an apprenticeship. You will receive direct mentorship, exposure across commercial, financial, legal, and regulatory workstreams, and increasing responsibility as you demonstrate your ability to carry it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Deal Support: Support live lease and commercial negotiations, maintain issues lists and trackers, research precedent transactions in public filings, evaluate counterparty positions, and prepare summaries, comparisons, and counterproposals ahead of negotiation sessions.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Build and maintain our view of the AI and hyperscale data center market, including competitor campuses and capacity, compute and colocation pricing, customer commitments, and deal structures. Translate that research into useful benchmarks for the deal team.
  • Financial Analysis: Build and maintain models for lease economics, total cost of occupancy, and $/kW benchmarking. Review and validate the numbers that flow into term sheets, memos, and board materials.
  • Power & Regulatory Research: Track utility tariffs, large load interconnection rules, and tax and incentive regimes that shape site economics. Turn complex filings and dockets into clear, decision ready insights.
  • Diligence & Document Management: Support diligence on sites and transactions, organize and review data rooms, reconcile discrepancies across documents, and keep deal files and trackers current and audit ready.
  • Executive Communication: Draft memos, one pagers, and board quality materials that make complex commercial questions clear and actionable for senior decision makers.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree from a top tier university with an outstanding academic record.
  • Roughly 1 to 2 years of experience, ideally in investment banking or management consulting. Structured finance, transactional legal or paralegal experience, or another analytically rigorous background may also translate well. Exceptional new graduates with rigorous internship experience will also be considered.
  • High intellectual horsepower and the curiosity to go deep on unfamiliar topics across power markets, contract structures, structured finance, and data center technology.
  • A self starter who independently pursues questions and research rather than waiting for direction.
  • Strong analytical ability, with rigorous quantitative skills, precise logic, and fluency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to distill complex information into concise, accurate, and useful takeaways.
  • A positive attitude and comfort operating in a fast moving environment where priorities and hours can change quickly when deals are active.
  • Comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and capable of growing into a customer facing role.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling highly confidential commercial information.
  • Exposure to energy, data centers, or real estate, as well as fluency with modern AI tools, is a plus.

WHY THIS ROLE

This is a front row seat to the AI infrastructure buildout from inside one of its fastest moving platforms. You will receive direct mentorship from senior commercial leadership, work closely with live transactions, and have a defined path toward taking increasing ownership of deals.

COMPENSATION & LOGISTICS

Competitive base salary, performance bonus, and equity, commensurate with experience. This role is full time and based in office at Hut 8's Miami, FL headquarters.

ABOUT THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is in office at our corporate headquarters in the Brickell area of Miami, Florida. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
