Companion Provider Position

We are seeking enthusiastic caregivers who are willing to provide care to an individual who cannot live independently in their community and doesn't want to live in a communal setting. Host Home Caregivers share homes and lives with individuals with Developmental Disabilities (IDD). As a Live-In Caregiver, you move into the client's home and provide them hands-on support, and ongoing daily care. You can help someone who has some daily challenges and make a difference in their life as they become part of your family. The caregiver will have their living area in a furnished basement with a private bathroom, and access to the kitchen and living areas.

About the individual: She is a middle-aged woman with IDD who is a bright, fun-loving, Rockies fan. She enjoys her alone time, her work at Target on Mondays and Sundays, and spends time at church working part-time with assorted tasks. She highly values her friendships, and is very conversational. Her parents are elderly and in need of assistance with recreational activities if requested, and assistance with morning and evening routines. Daily lifting is required.

To Qualify for This Amazing Opportunity
  • Must have experience with providing personal care
  • Must have experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Must have the ability to use adaptive equipment for transfers and bathing, training provided
  • Should have a High school or equivalent education (Required)
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Must complete training for Medication Administration, CPR/First Aid and maintain ongoing training as deemed necessary
  • No pets or full-time children
  • Good sense of humor, patience, and a dedicated personality are a plus
  • Companions must be willing to be onboarded by Support, Inc and pass the basic requirements
  • The above includes completing a full application and passing background and reference checks
Caregivers' Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide personal care
  • Assist with oral hygiene care, meal preparation
  • Provide a variety of recreational activities to enhance social development
  • Include client in family life and activities
  • Accompany clients to supermarkets, museums, parks, dances, recreation centers, etc.
  • Provide transportation as needed
  • Assist with medical care, including appointments and administering medications
  • Provide documentation of progress notes and medical records
  • Provide training on life learning skills
