Job Description
We are seeking experienced Combo Pipe Welders to join our team on a full-time basis, with two openings available. In this hands-on role, you'll perform Stick and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel piping, consistently producing welds that meet strict inspection and X-ray quality requirements. Beyond welding, you'll work closely with pipefitters, helpers, supervisors, and quality-control personnel - assisting with fitting, preparation, grinding, and general workflow to keep projects moving efficiently. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in producing clean, code-compliant welds and thrives in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform Stick and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel piping
  • Complete most personal grinding, cleaning, and weld preparation
  • Assist pipefitters with fitting, layout, preparation, and material handling
  • Produce a minimum equivalent of four 10-inch welds per shift
  • Follow established weld procedures, quality standards, and inspection hold points
  • Ensure completed welds meet X-ray and project-quality requirements
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Work effectively with pipefitters, helpers, supervisors, and quality-control personnel
  • Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures

Required Experience/Skills
  • Minimum of two years of pipe welding experience
  • Experience performing both Stick and TIG welding
  • Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel pipe
  • Ability to read and follow welding procedures and job specifications
  • Ability to produce welds that meet X-ray-quality standards
  • Willingness to assist with fitting, preparation, and grinding duties
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards

Welding Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete the following welding tests prior to hire:
  • 2-inch monster coupon on a 45-degree angle
  • 6010 root pass and hot pass
  • 8010 downhill fill and cap
  • 2-inch extra-heavy stainless steel coupon using TIG for the complete weld
  • Compliance with required inspection hold points throughout the test

Nice-to-Haves
  • Prior experience on industrial piping or similar large-scale construction projects
  • Familiarity with additional welding processes or pipe sizes beyond test requirements
  • Strong track record of first-pass weld acceptance

Education
No formal education requirement specified; relevant welding certifications or trade school training are a plus.
