The role typically involves working closely with nurses and midwives to provide hands-on care, monitor patient comfort, and assist with postnatal needs. Maintaining a sensitive, supportive environment is crucial, as is adapting quickly to the unpredictable nature of childbirth and postpartum recovery. Additionally, living on-site requires strong boundaries between work and personal time to prevent burnout.
