Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer responsible for creating, verifying, and maintaining CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programs to support inspection and manufacturing teams. The role will focus on enhancing inspection efficiency through advanced gauging techniques, performing hands-on inspections, and contributing to quality improvements. This position reports directly to the Quality Control Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain CMM inspection programs used by quality and manufacturing personnel to ensure product compliance.
  • Provide clear CMM operation instructions and support to internal users as needed.
  • Verify and document the accuracy of CMM programs in accordance with internal protocols and applicable industry standards.
  • Utilize CMM and a range of conventional and advanced measurement tools to verify part dimensions per engineering drawings.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and throughput of inspection operations.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of precision mechanical parts and assemblies, ensuring conformance to tight tolerances.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within established productivity and quality standards while adhering to documented procedures.
  • Support departmental and company-wide goals, both short-term and long-term.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and data as required.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and housekeeping procedures; report any safety incidents immediately.
  • Make and document recommendations for improving processes, and actively support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively across departments, delivering a high level of service to both internal and external customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including cross-training and skill development in related roles.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience inspecting mechanical components in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and inspection methodologies.
  • Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Expertise in CMM programming and troubleshooting, with at least 5 years of experience using PC-DMIS.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and contribute positively to a team environment.
