Job description

ABOUT VICTORY LIVE

Victory Live is a private equity backed technology company aimed at maximizing distribution and yield for live event ticket inventory. We provide an end-to-end software platform for the live ticketing industry, managing thousands of sports, theater, and live music event tickets on behalf of artists, promoters, teams, venues, and professional resellers. Victory Live’s comprehensive offerings include an established B2B marketplace along with both a full-service and an automated SaaS platform to handle all elements of the ticket sales lifecycle, from ingestion to sales fulfillment.

THE POSITION

Victory Live is seeking a Substitution Purchasing Specialist to support the sourcing and purchasing of replacement ticket inventory needed to successfully fulfill customer orders.

Reporting to the Manager, Substitution Purchasing, this role is responsible for evaluating available inventory when originally sold tickets become unavailable, identifying appropriate replacement options, purchasing approved inventory, and coordinating with Operations to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

This is a full-time in-office position based at Victory Live's Buckhead office in Atlanta, Georgia. Given the fast-moving and time-sensitive nature of substitution purchasing, this role works closely with the Manager and other Operations team members throughout the day to make quick decisions, elevate issues, and resolve orders in real time.

This is a fast-paced, decision-oriented role where success requires balancing customer experience, seat quality, fulfillment risk, speed, and cost.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage assigned orders requiring replacement ticket inventory from identification through resolution.
  • Research inventory across primary and secondary ticket marketplaces and identify replacement options that meet Victory Live's substitution standards.
  • Purchase replacement inventory within established guidelines, approval thresholds, and operational procedures.
  • Evaluate comparable seats and upgrades based on section, row, location, quantity, ticket attributes, restrictions, and event-specific considerations.
  • Balance customer experience, seat quality, fulfillment risk, and replacement cost when making purchasing decisions.
  • Prioritize and proactively manage orders based on event date, urgency, inventory availability, and fulfillment risk.
  • Monitor changing ticket prices and inventory availability to identify cost-effective replacement options and minimize substitution losses.
  • Verify ticket details before purchase and ensure purchased inventory is correctly associated with the appropriate customer order.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of purchases, replacement costs, order outcomes, and other required information.
  • Partner with the Manager and cross-functional Operations teams to resolve complex or high-risk orders and elevate purchases requiring exceptions or additional approval.
  • Identify and elevate recurring inventory, seller, marketplace, or fulfillment issues that may require broader action.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in the live-event ticketing industry.
  • Familiarity with primary and secondary ticket marketplaces such as Ticketmaster, AXS, SeatGeek, StubHub, Vivid Seats, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of venue seating, including sections, rows, seat locations, ticket attributes, and different seating configurations.
  • Ability to evaluate ticket inventory and determine comparable seating and appropriate upgrades.
  • Understanding of ticket pricing and how inventory values can change as an event approaches.
  • Ability to make quick, financially responsible decisions in a rapidly changing marketplace.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing seating locations, ticket quantities, restrictions, delivery methods, and pricing.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive orders and prioritize work effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment where decisions can have immediate customer and financial impacts.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to recognize situations requiring escalation and communicate them quickly to management.
  • Willingness to take ownership of issues and work collaboratively across teams to reach resolution.
  • Ability and willingness to work on-site at Victory Live's Buckhead office in Atlanta, Georgia.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience purchasing ticket inventory preferred, including experience with a ticket broker, marketplace, reseller, sports or entertainment organization, or similar ticketing business.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Make accurate and timely purchasing decisions.
  • Successfully fulfill a high percentage of assigned substitution orders.
  • Victory Live | Substitution Purchasing Specialist | 3
  • Minimize unnecessary replacement costs and substitution losses.
  • Consistently follow substitution and purchasing guidelines.
  • Recognize and elevate high-risk or high-cost situations appropriately.
  • Maintain strong accuracy when purchasing and documenting replacement inventory.
