HOUSEKEEPER – FULL-TIME

St. Anthony Friary | Butler, New Jersey | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM

ABOUT THE JOB

The Franciscan Province of Our Lady of Guadalupe is seeking a dependable, caring and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join the household staff at St. Anthony Friary in Butler, NJ. The friary is a residential community of approximately 25 Franciscan friars, many of whom are retired or older. This role helps provide a clean, comfortable and welcoming home for the friars who live there.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Someone who takes pride in their work, works independently, and brings kindness, discretion, compassion and respect to interactions with older adults and members of the friary community.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Clean common areas, restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, individual bedrooms and bathrooms.

•  Dust and polish furniture and fixtures; vacuum, sweep and mop floors.

•  Shampoo carpets, wash windows, and clean/wax floors as needed.

•  Remove and dispose of trash and recyclables.

•  Stock and maintain housekeeping supply areas.

•  Perform periodic deep-cleaning and special projects, including mattress flipping and furniture moves.

•  Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair.

•  Greet friars, visitors and guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

•  Respond to reasonable requests from friar-residents and work cooperatively with staff and residents.


QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

•  High school diploma or equivalent; 3–5 years of housekeeping experience preferred.

•  Mature, caring and compassionate approach to performing the work.

•  Ability to interact respectfully and sensitively with an older population.

•  Self-directed work style with strong attention to detail.

•  Good communication skills and a cooperative attitude.

•  Ability to lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds and bend, kneel and reach throughout the day.
