Job description

A growing employment and labor law firm located in Encino, California is seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is looking to develop and expand their employment litigation experience while handling substantive legal work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

The Associate Attorney will focus heavily on employment litigation matters, including single-plaintiff cases and representative actions under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing an active caseload of employment litigation matters
  • Handling single-plaintiff employment cases and PAGA lawsuits
  • Drafting and responding to written discovery
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Drafting motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents
  • Conducting legal research and preparing case analyses
  • Developing litigation strategies and assisting with case evaluation
  • Preparing for and attending court hearings, mediations, and other proceedings
  • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties throughout the litigation process
  • Managing case deadlines and ensuring compliance with applicable court rules and procedures

Qualifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of California and in good standing
  • Minimum of 1+ years of relevant employment law experience
  • Experience handling employment litigation matters strongly preferred
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Experience drafting discovery, motions, briefs, and pleadings
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload and meet litigation deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
