The Medical Assistant job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Patient registration/EMR
  • Insurance verification
  • Familiar with simple computer tasks and Microsoft
  • Vitals
  • EKG
  • Proficient in venipuncture and injections
  • Collecting urine specimens and preparing for LAB send-outs
  • In office testing including FLU, strep and pregnancy testing
  • Prepare for suturing
  • Sterilization, etc.
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical anatomy, and physiology

Requirements for the Medical Assistant position include:

  • Possess a valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification or
  • Have at least one (1) year of verifiable, clinical work experience in an Emergency Department, Hospital, or Urgent Care environment as a Medical Assistant, ED/ER Technician, or Patient Care Technician.
  • Ability to pass our internal clinical assessment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to include 8-13 hour shifts (both are available!) plus 1-2 on-call shifts (which come with a $50 shift bonus!)
  • Some weekend shifts are required as we are open 7 days a week for our patients
  • Required to travel to different locations within an hour radius for coverage in times of critical business demands or staffing needs (these requirements come with a $50 bonus to employee!)
  • Required to have a valid driver's license or a valid driver's level 2 permit
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Able to sit, walk, reach with hands and arms throughout the workday.
  • Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
  • Occasionally required to lift moderate weight (20-40 pounds)
  • Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust or focus
