Welcome to our Tropical Adult Day Club with a retro Margaritaville twist! If you're searching for a one-of-a-kind, fun, and engaging environment where you can help our members find joy, happiness, and a renewed sense of purpose, you've found it!
Our "Club" is packed with endless programming opportunities and creative themed storefronts. As a Cabana Girl or Cabana Boy, you'll assist our Cruise Director (aka Activity Director) in creating vibrant and memorable experiences for our members.
*About the Role:*
* *Title:* Cabana Girl / Cabana Boy (Personal Care/ Activity Assistant)
* *Schedule: *2 to 3 days a week (Daytime hours) Every Monday, Wednesday & every other Saturday from 8 am - 4pm
* *Location:* ActivAge Sarasota: 3801 Bee Ridge Road Suite 5, Sarasota, FL 34233
*Your Responsibilities:*
* Actively participate in member activities throughout the day.
* Assist in facilitating creative and exciting programs, encouraging member participation.
* Prepare and set up engaging member activities.
* Serve meals and snacks; assist members requiring help with eating; clear tables.
* Help maintain a clean, orderly, and vibrant environment.
* Communicate positively and courteously with members, their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community.
* Participate in staff meetings and in-service educational programs as needed.
* Collaborate with the team to enhance the member experience and achieve overall goals and objectives.
* Assist with Personal Care Needs (activities of daily living) based on our members care plans.
*Your Skills and Qualities:*
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Preferred prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with cognitive decline.
* Love of working with others and engaging in arts, crafts, food, music, learning, gardening, and recreation.
* Punctual, responsible, with a professional attitude, and a passion for seniors.
* Able to work a flexible schedule.
* Able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds; able to stand for an extended period while providing physical assistance to members.
* Successful results of background check, and where applicable, additional state-specific regulatory requirements.
