Job description

Core Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gather and organize video, sound bites, graphics, and other production elements.
  • Collaborate with anchors, control room staff, and graphics departments to execute segments.
  • Produce well-researched and thoughtfully structured interview segments with guests, both in studio and remote.
  • Manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Pitch timely, creative, and original segment ideas aligned with the editorial direction of the show.
  • Write and edit scripts, interview questions, banners, and segment materials.
  • Track and monitor breaking news and quickly develop content aligned with a conservative lens.
  • Adapt rapidly to shifting priorities in a dynamic live-television environment.
  • Use sound editorial judgment and attention to detail to ensure standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of national or large market local TV news production experience.
  • Substantial control room and breaking news experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of current events and politics from a conservative perspective.
  • Familiarity with creating full-screen graphics for broadcast.
  • Experience editing with Adobe Premiere or similar platforms.
  • Basic animation or motion graphics experience.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and news-gathering abilities.
  • Ability to research effectively using editorial tools and social media platforms.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively under pressure.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in our Washington DC office.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data and information for accuracy.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, overnights, holidays, and weekends.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
