The IS&T Services Multimedia and Events team is responsible for the strategy, research, deployment, and sustainment of technology and workflows that power Apple's studio, corporate, and live event operations across all of Apple Services. Beyond event support, the team creates original content across a wide range of mediums - including video production, animation, and photography - ensuring that every creative output meets Apple's uncompromising standard of excellence. Members work closely with leadership, business stakeholders, engineers, vendors, and production teams across Services to deliver technology ecosystems and original creative work that meet the demands of a high-growth, global organization.
Description
As an AV & Broadcast Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical lead for live events, broadcast productions, and AV conference room operations across Apple's IS&T Services Multimedia and Events team. You will help design, support, and operate broadcast and event production systems supporting Apple's live events, executive presentations, and studio productions. You will perform multiple critical roles including audio engineer, camera operator, mixer, streaming engineer, and technical director ensuring every live event and broadcast production operates flawlessly. You'll provide white glove technical support for Apple's most senior executives and high-profile external guests, and serve as a trusted technical partner across AppleTV, Music, and all of Services. This role requires deep expertise across AV infrastructure, broadcast engineering, live streaming technologies, multimedia productions as well as the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and production teams to deliver seamless broadcast experiences.
Minimum Qualifications
BS Degree in Computer Science, or other Engineering fields, or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience in broadcast engineering, AV engineering, and live event production.
5+ years expertise supporting live broadcast environments including streaming, switching, and audio engineering with proficiency in production switchers such as Blackmagic ATEM or Sony MVS.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years experience as a technical director, audio engineer, camera operator, mixer, and streaming engineer across in-person and remote production.
5+ years proficiency with streaming and web conferencing platforms including Zoom, WebEx, or Livestream.
5+ years experience supporting and maintaining enterprise conference room AV systems including Cisco, Crestron, and Dante audio networking.
5+ years strong understanding of signal flow, routing, and distribution including HDBaseT, SDI, and HDMI infrastructure.
5+ years hands-on experience with camera systems including Sony, Blackmagic, or PTZ systems and audio consoles such as Yamaha, Avid S6L, or Soundcraft.
5+ years experience with specialty room configurations including Casting Rooms, Pitch Rooms, and Screening Theaters.
Knowledge of video encoding and transcoding standards including H.264, H.265, and RTMP for live and on-demand delivery.
Experience with intercom and communication systems such as Clear-Com or RTS in live production environments.
Experience with LED wall and large-format display technology in live event and corporate settings.
Experience troubleshooting complex AV and broadcast systems in live, high-pressure environments.
Ability to lead technical discussions with stakeholders and translate event requirements into actionable production plans.
Proven ability to provide white-glove service in sensitive, high-visibility environments.
Experience supporting executive-level events and corporate broadcast environments.
Experience designing or maintaining large-scale AV environments.
Background supporting studio production, casting sessions, or live content production.
Experience with streaming platforms, hybrid events, and remote production workflows.
Strong collaboration skills across engineering, creative, and production teams.
Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for live production excellence.
Hands on experience in Gen AI technologies.
