Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Broadcasting and Live Stream Event Support Technician to join our IT team. This role is essential in ensuring the seamless execution of live events, virtual meetings, and webcasts. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in audio-visual (AV) systems, live streaming platforms, and broadcasting equipment. They will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting AV and streaming equipment during live events.

Compensation: $25/hr - $27/hr

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Event Planning and Setup:

  • Collaborate with event organizers and clients to understand technical requirements.
  • Configure and test AV equipment, including cameras, microphones, lighting, and streaming software.
  • Set up and manage live streaming platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx, YouTube Live, and others.
  • Ensure all broadcasting equipment, including encoders, mixers, and switchers, is functioning properly.

Live Event Support:

  • Operate cameras, audio equipment, and switchers during live events to ensure high-quality video and sound.
  • Monitor live streaming feeds for quality and troubleshoot any issues in real-time.
  • Provide technical support to event participants, including speakers and attendees, to resolve any connectivity or equipment issues.
  • Coordinate with the IT team to ensure network stability and bandwidth availability during live streams.

Post-Event Responsibilities:

  • Assist with post-production tasks, including editing recorded sessions and ensuring the availability of on-demand content.
  • Maintain a detailed log of technical issues and resolutions for continuous improvement.
  • Provide feedback to improve future live streaming setups and processes.

Equipment Maintenance and Inventory:

  • Perform regular maintenance on AV and broadcasting equipment to ensure longevity and reliability.
  • Manage inventory of broadcasting and streaming equipment, ensuring all necessary tools are available for upcoming events.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades to equipment and software as needed.
