Live Event AV Technician (Part-Time, Flex)
Join Us at the Heart of Live Entertainment!
Location: Nashville, TN (Nashville Yards) | On-Site Only
Schedule: Flexible, Event-Driven Hours
Are you passionate about audio and video technology? Do you thrive in the fast-paced environment of live events and enjoy being right where the action happens? Advanced Systems Group invites you to bring your technical expertise to a dynamic, high-profile venue in Nashville as our new Live Event AV Technician.
You'll be the key on-site technical lead, trusted to independently oversee cutting-edge AV systems, support creative performances, and deliver seamless event experiences for top-tier clients and artists.
What You'll Do
  • Lead Live Event AV Operations: Set up, operate, and strike audio and video systems for engaging events at a vibrant Nashville venue.
  • Mix Like a Pro: Run the in-room Allen & Heath SQ5 audio console, managing levels, EQ, and program audio for pristine sound.
  • Stage-Ready Audio Setups: Prepare and test microphones (wireless & wired), floor monitors, DI boxes, and handle performance audio configurations.
  • Perfect the Vibe: Manage background music, control live announcement audio, and ensure top-notch transitions.
  • Drive Video Excellence: Use the Crestron control panel for seamless video input selection and display routing.
  • Tech Checks: Conduct pre-event system checks and ensure laptops/presentations run smoothly.
  • Client-Facing Leadership: Serve as the main technical point of contact for event leads, talent, and clients-delivering best practices and instant solutions.
  • Discretion at Every Step: Work alongside high-profile guests with professionalism, confidentiality, and calm under pressure.
  • Pre-Event & On-the-Fly Problem Solving: Troubleshoot tier 1 AV issues swiftly and maintain an organized, professional event environment.

Who You Are
  • 4+ years' experience in live event AV support (preferred)
  • Proven ability operating digital audio consoles (Allen & Heath SQ series a plus)
  • Skilled in live audio setup and strike, with hands-on experience with wireless mics and monitors
  • Familiarity with Crestron or similar AV control systems
  • Independent and self-motivated: ready to manage events solo on-site
  • Friendly, professional communicator with a customer-service mindset
  • Comfortable working around artists, agents, and VIPs-discreet and trusted with confidential matters
  • Experienced in high-energy environments-able to stay composed, prioritize, and adapt under pressure
  • Bonus: Experience with live music/entertainment, background music systems, and basic audio signal flow is a strong plus

Your Technical Edge
  • Mastery of small-format digital audio consoles, live mixing, and basic EQ
  • Proficient with signal flow, AV setup, and troubleshooting for small-scale events
  • Confident using AV control panels for video routing and display setups
  • Resourceful problem-solver who shines with minimal supervision
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and thorough in every event setup

What to Expect
  • Flex, part-time role: hours vary based on event needs (roughly 20-30 hours/month; no guaranteed minimum)
  • Typical events: Evenings, some afternoons, and occasional weekends (especially Fridays and Saturdays)
  • Must be able to commute to Nashville Yards
  • Physical demands include lifting and moving AV equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and standing for extended periods
  • Work in energetic event venues with a powerful soundtrack (moderate to loud noise expected!)

Ready to play a vital role in unforgettable events, work with renowned talent, and hone your AV skills in one of Nashville's most exciting venues? Apply today and join a team that values your expertise and unique touch!
