What is a live couple?

A Live Couple job is a position where two people, often a couple, are hired together to live and work on-site for an employer. These roles are common in hospitality, estate management, caretaking, and domestic service. Duties typically vary based on the employer's needs and may include housekeeping, maintenance, cooking, security, or guest services. Employers often provide accommodation as part of the compensation package. This type of job is ideal for couples who enjoy working together and are flexible with their roles.

What are the typical responsibilities and work arrangements for a live couple?

Live Couple positions generally involve jointly managing and maintaining a private residence, estate, or hospitality property, with responsibilities split according to each individual's strengths. Duties commonly include housekeeping, maintenance, gardening, administrative support, errands, and occasionally meal preparation or guest services. Work schedules can be flexible but often require availability for emergencies or special needs, as the role typically includes on-site accommodation. Many employers value couples who demonstrate reliability, discretion, and the ability to adapt to changing needs. This arrangement allows couples to live and work together, often in unique locations, while providing valuable support for property owners or guests.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the live couple position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Live Couple, strong property management skills, basic maintenance knowledge, and prior hospitality or caretaking experience are typically required. Familiarity with property management systems, routine maintenance tools, and compliance procedures is often important for daily operations. Excellent teamwork, communication, discretion, and problem-solving abilities help couples manage responsibilities and relationships with property owners or guests. These skills ensure smooth operation, satisfied clients, and the overall success of the property or establishment they're entrusted to manage.
