Job description

Purpose:
The Venue Services Assistant is responsible for the overall housekeeping and maintenance for DAYTON LIVE. Facilities include: the Victoria Theatre, Schuster Center and Metropolitan Arts Center. You will perform a variety of cleaning tasks to keep the buildings looking presentable for our patrons and guests. Strong candidates will be committed to providing the highest standards in the industry. Evening and Weekend availability required. 


Essential Functions:
• Ensure the sanitation and cleanliness of all surfaces in every restroom, shower as assigned in area of responsibility. Stock all soap and paper products. Keep machines stocked and report any malfunction to Manager/Supervisor. Report any plumbing, electrical or lighting issues to Manager/Supervisor.
• Ensure all windows are spot cleaned on regular basis, fully cleaned as directed on seasonal basis.
• Carpets must be vacuumed and cleaned on a regular basis, as directed.
• Marble must be swept, spot cleaned and buffed as directed or scheduled.
• All fixtures must be dusted and cleaned as directed or scheduled.
• Trash must be removed and disposed of properly and on regular schedule.
• Must be familiar with proper chemical use and disposal.
• Must be familiar with proper use, repair, and maintenance of all equipment. Report any issues to Manager.
• As directed, will be required to strip, wax, seal and/or refinish areas at regular intervals.
• Must be in the Venue Services dress code.
• Must be able to take direction, supervision and work independently as needed.
• Provide assistance to any co-worker or patron that requests help.
• Keep accurate accounting of time worked and report to Manager.
• Assist in having an ‘eye open’ approach in all areas, keeping safe for co-workers and patrons. -Report any unsafe conditions or damages as quickly as possible.
• Must be able to interface with other departments.
• Must be able participate in setups and teardowns of events.
• Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1-2 years of experience in housekeeping or property management preferred.
• Ability to use a computer for email, scheduling, online training, etc.
• Certifications in Chemical use, Equipment use, and repair or similar skills preferred.
• Ability to manage your time efficiently.
• Work well when supervisors are not present.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
• Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
• Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
