POSITION SUMMARY:

The Balega Field Service Representative is a motivated self-starter who will lead and execute seasonal go-to-market and service strategies in specified distribution channels within their assigned territory. This role will foster growth, excitement, and awareness within the community by conducting education, promotion, social media posts, and merchandising tasks for Balega, Implus, and its products. The Balega Field Service Representative will also establish meaningful and lasting relationships with retailers, community partners, and consumers to drive sell-through of Balega products and increase market share. This role is ideal for someone who loves being on the road and enjoys connecting with people. Frequent travel to assigned accounts, designated consumer events, races, and weekend activities is an essential function of the position.  Remote (Home-Based)- Phoenix / Tucson, AZ area or Southern California area

Essential Job Function:        

  • Support retailers through in-person visits, demos, working the sales floor, and partnering for local expos
  • Conduct clear and persuasive product presentations to educate and motivate retail staff and customers
  • Engage with community and retail partners to create excitement and brand awareness around Balega (and TriggerPoint / RockTape as appropriate)
  • Implement merchandising or promotional activations with product and POP
  • Provide support for Balega. TriggerPoint, and RockTape through education and product presentations at REI and Scheels
  • Represent Balega at local (and select national) events, races, and expos
  • Complete detailed and accurate field activity reports turned in immediately after field visits
  • Maintain organization and appearance of field assets and product samples
  • Uphold fiscal responsibility by managing travel, expenses, promotional material, and seeds
  • Ensure in-field activities align with seasonal go-to-market strategies and sales goals established by the leadership team
  • Strategize with Sales Reps to create a service plan to support brand growth in assigned territory
  • Collaborate with other members of the Field Service Team to create and implement unique education initiatives and activations
  • Be the “eyes and ears” of the company: collect and relay feedback on Balega products, competitor brands, and industry trends being seen while visiting accounts and attending events
  • Bring your experience, ideas, and unique perspective to the team to contribute to the continued growth and success of The Field Service Team and Balega
  • Provide Social Media content for review and posting by our Social Media Manager through proper networks
  • This role requires frequent travel within Southern California, Arizona, Nevada to assigned account accounts, designated consumer events, races, and working on weekends.
  • Up to 50% travel with peaks in Spring and Fall

Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • 2-3 years of experience in marketing, sales, run or outdoor specialty.
  • Familiarity with the Balega product line
  • Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as within a team
  • Experience working directly with consumers, fitting, and selling technical footwear, insoles, and socks
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook
  • Self-motivated with the desire to show initiative and be proactive
  • Location requirement: Remote (Home-Based)- Phoenix / Tucson, AZ area or Southern California area

Education & Experience:

A bachelor's degree in a related field of study OR 2 years of experience and professional achievements, ideally in marketing/sales and/or Run/Outdoor Specialty.

Relevant Working Conditions & Physical Demands:                    

  • Frequent travel (typically 2-3 days per week). 
  • Observe/Identify: The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Hearing: Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors.
  • Operate: Write, type and use the telephone, copier, and computer systems.
  • Stationary position: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50- 75% of the time.
  • Mobility: Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, attend meetings, etc.
  • Communicate: Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Move/Transport: Ability to occasionally move boxes weighing up to 25 lbs. for various needs with or without accommodations
  • Exposed: Standard climate-controlled office setting and Outdoor Events
