Job Description:
North America Casualty Manager
Huntsman is seeking a North America Casualty Manager supporting the Global Risk Management and Insurance Division located in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to the Director, Global Risk Management and Insurance.
Job Scope
The North America Casualty Manager is responsible for the strategic management of the organization's casualty insurance programs across the United States and Canada. This role provides subject-matter expertise across general liability, auto liability, workers' compensation, umbrella/excess liability, and related casualty risks, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk management objectives, contractual obligations, and operational realities.
This role has primary accountability for Owner-Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIPs) supporting construction projects, maintenance turnarounds, and large-scale plant work, ensuring effective risk transfer, claims governance, and regulatory compliance.
The role partners closely with Engineering, Project Management, Operations, EHS, Legal, Procurement, and Finance, as well as external brokers, carriers, and OCIP administrators, to manage complex casualty risks inherent in chemical manufacturing environments while optimizing total cost of risk.
In summary, as the North America Casualty Manager, you will:
  • Manage North American casualty insurance programs.
  • Oversee OCIP / Project Insurance responsibilities.
  • Provide claims oversight and litigation management.
  • Support risk identification and loss mitigation initiatives.
  • Advise on contractual risk transfer matters.
  • Manage North America broker, carrier, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure governance, compliance, and reporting standards are maintained.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; preferred in Risk Management, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in casualty insurance and risk management, including North American programs.
  • Direct experience managing OCIPs for construction, capital projects, or plant turnarounds.
  • Strong experience working with brokers, insurers, TPAs, and legal counsel.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Operations, EHS, and Legal teams and to influence cross-functionally in a complex operational organization.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong technical knowledge of casualty insurance structures, claims handling, and loss financing.
  • Chemical manufacturing risk expertise.
  • OCIP and contractor risk management expertise.
  • Claims and litigation management.
  • Executive communication and stakeholder influence.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, energy, chemicals, industrial manufacturing, or logistics.
  • Professional credentials such as ARM, CPCU, or equivalent.
  • Experience with self-insured or large deductible casualty programs.
  • Familiarity with enterprise risk management frameworks and board-level reporting.

Working Environment
  • Hybrid work environment with some regional travel required.
  • Up to 20% domestic travel within North America.
