Job description

Kellogg, Hansen, Todd, Figel & Frederick, PLLC is in need of a Litigation Paralegal to support the Washington, DC office.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Strong cite checking and blue booking skills in preparation of court submissions, written discovery, and legal memoranda;
  • Project and case management skills and ability to perform full range of paralegal tasks to meet litigation case needs from inception to conclusion;
  • Manage assigned cases and their related tasks and projects;
  • Organizational and oversight skills:
    • Assist attorneys in ensuring that all documentation associated with a case, such as correspondence, pleadings, document productions, research files, emails is filed as appropriate
    • Assist with organization of case rooms and electronic repositories
  • Assist with all aspects of trial preparation and trials, including:
    • Prepare trial exhibits and demonstratives
    • Prepare witness files and examination materials
    • Coordinate activities with court personnel and court reporters
    • Provide support during and after trial
  • Conduct factual research and analyze information;
  • Maintain discovery files, notice depositions, draft subpoenas, and prepare deposition materials and for witnesses and experts;
  • Ability to work with databases and litigation software packages;
  • Ability to work and learn independently, meet deadlines, and interact well with attorneys, staff, and clients;
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to report case status projects to attorneys;
  • Knowledge of e-filings with various courts;
  • Ability to research federal, state, court, judge, and electronic filing rules; and
  • Good writing and proofreading skills.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in a law firm as a litigation paralegal.
  • Ability to work overtime required.
  • Ability to travel, typically for trial.
  • Litigation trial experience.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize issues and workload.
  • The ability to work on projects independently or with little supervision.
