Job description

Zahntechnique is a dedicated team of dental artists who are passionate about crafting smiles – one patient at a time. We are searching for a motivated and creative individual to join our team as a dental technician who will be responsible for creating ceramic dental restorations. This position will require the individual to have 2+ years of work experience in a licensed dental laboratory.


This opportunity will include the following critical tasks and responsibilities:

  • Read and understand the doctor’s prescription to understand the processes needed to fulfill the requirements of the prescription.
  • Evaluate records (i.e., conventional impressions, models and intra orals scans) to check for distortions, pulls or any other discrepancies that may inhibit the ability to fabricate an accurate restoration.
  • Perform quality control for incoming cases into the Ceramic Department.
  • Fitting crown and bridge margins on tooth- and implant supported restorations.
  • Adjusting inter proximal contacts and occlusal contacts on full contour restorations
  • Layer porcelain to zirconia, lithium x-silicate and metal frame works.
  • Stain and glaze, layered and full contour restorations.
  • Contour and polish or stain and glaze provisional restorations.
  • Bond implant restorations to titanium bases or abutments.
  • Wax up diagnostic casts for treatment planning.
  • Fitting of wax patterns to dies and models.
  • Contour wax patterns to correct anatomy and function.
  • Sprue wax patterns to rings to press or cast.
  • Invest wax patterns to press or cast.
  • Utilize furnaces to burn out rings to press or cast.
  • Press lithium x-silicate.

The Required Competencies and Qualifications for this opportunity:

  • Proficient in English - reading and writing
  • Full understanding of dental terminology and dental morphology
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a licensed dental laboratory
  • Competent in fitting all ceramic and metal crown and bridge frameworks and full contour restorations.
  • Competent adjusting and contouring inter proximal contacts and occlusion.
  • Competent in layering porcelain to zirconia, lithium x-silicate and metal frame works.
  • Competent in stain and glaze of layered and full contour restorations.
  • Competent in fabricating fixed implant restorations.


The Desired Competencies and Qualifications for this opportunity:

  • Ability to fabricate diagnostic wax ups.
  • Ability to fit wax patterns, sprue, invest, press and divest for lithium di-silicate restorations.
  • Competence in bonding titanium bases and abutments to implants restorations.
  • Competence in contour, polish, stain and glaze tooth- and implant supported provisionals.
  • Ability to identify implant systems by evaluating the impression
