The Mission of the College of Arts & Humanities is to provide for all university students robust, cross-disciplinary curricula that cultivate intellectual, moral, and aesthetic virtues within a Christian community.

Position Summary: Houston Christian University seeks Online Adjunct Professors to join the Department of Philosophy, History, Law, and Society with the ability to teach Introduction to Government/Political Science survey classes. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Adjunct needs change from semester to semester.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a course syllabus for each course and follow established departmental and institutional guidelines.
  • Provide timely, quality access to students via personal consultation, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
  • Evaluate students by established means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and to inform them in a timely manner of their progress.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
  • Submit paperwork and forms in a timely fashion.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • MA or PhD in Government/Political Science.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Ability to teach survey courses in Introduction to Government and/or Political Science in a manner consistent with the Universitys Christian mission and values.

Physical Requirements:

  • Computer access and availability.
  • No residential presence required.
