STORE MANAGER - GAS STATION/C-STORE IN AUBURN HILLS, MI


Location: Auburn Hills, MI (In-Person)

Job Type: Full-Time (40โ€“45 hours/week, including rotating weekends and holidays)

Salary Range: $70,000 โ€“ $80,000/year + performance bonuses and competitive benefits



We are seeking an upscale, service-driven Store Manager to oversee our premium fuel station and luxury convenience store. This is not a typical highway rest stop. Our location features grab-and-go gourmet snacks and meals, liquor, wine, and craft beer selection, and an immaculate, modern fueling environment.

The ideal candidate will operate the venue like a high-end boutique retail store. You will manage daily operations, motivate a hospitality-minded team, optimize inventory, and ensure our location delivers a flawless, white-glove guest experience for Auburn Hills commuters, corporate professionals, and local residents.



Key Responsibilities


Guest Experience & Visual Standards

  • Enforce Concierge-Level Service: Train and hold team members accountable to deliver five-star customer service, greeting and thanking every guest with genuine warmth.
  • Maintain Elite Cleanliness: Oversee the pristine presentation of the interior store, high-end restrooms, coffee bars, and the outdoor fueling forecourt.
  • Luxury Visual Merchandising: Arrange artisan food, premium beverages, and high-margin goods according to strict premium display standards.


Financial & Fuel Operations

  • Drive Profitability: Analyze financial reports and customer buying trends to hit monthly sales and profit targets.
  • Fuel Logistics Management: Monitor live underground fuel levels and coordinate with distributors to ensure optimal supply pricing and zero downtime.
  • Shrinkage & Cash Auditing: Manage strict cash control, daily banking drops, and regular inventory counts to minimize retail shrinkage.


Leadership & Team Development

  • Talent Lifecycle: Hire, onboard, train, and mentor a professional team of shift supervisors, cashiers, and food service staff.
  • Labor Scheduling: Create optimized weekly staff schedules that align labor hours with peak commuting traffic.
  • Performance Coaching: Deliver regular feedback, resolve employee conflicts, and foster a professional, collaborative environment.


Vendor & Compliance Management

  • Premium Vendor Relations: Partner with high-end food, beverage, and local specialty item distributors to source unique inventory.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with Michigan state laws, health department codes, liquor/tobacco sales regulations, and environmental protocols for fuel storage.



Qualifications & Skills


Required:

  • Experience: 3+ years of retail store management experience. Experience in premium convenience environments, high-volume restaurants, upscale specialty grocery, or hospitality is highly preferred.
  • Leadership: Exceptional team-building skills with a proven track record of managing a team in a fast-paced retail footprint.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency in modern Point of Sale (POS) networks, back-office inventory systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work changing shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and rotating weekends.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for prolonged periods, move around the storefront freely, and lift up to 40 pounds for inventory stocking.
