Job description

**This position is available to Lionsgate Academy students ONLY who are enrolled full time as a junior (11th grade) or senior (12th grade) at Lionsgate Academy for the entire school year.

POSITION PURPOSE

The lunchroom student intern will facilitate the collection, sorting and disposal of recyclable materials at the campus recycling facility. Additional duties may include, assisting with dish washing, cleaning tables and supporting the lunchroom staff. These duties will take place on either an assigned A or B Day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists students and staff with the proper sorting of organics, recyclables, and landfill waste.

  • Follows all safety regulations.

  • Inspects collection barrels, carts, dumpsters, and other department equipment for cleanliness and correct sorting.

  • Encourages campus-wide participation in the recycling program.

  • Brings garbage cans to dumpster area.

  • Maintains workspace in a clean, well-organized manner avoiding clutter and potential fire hazards.

  • Picks up and delivers supplies and materials to necessary staff or students.

  • Reports all feedback and concerns to the supervisor.

  • Clean hygiene for a kitchen environment.

  • Wear clothing required to stay safe and comply with safety regulations.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Clean lunchroom tables.

  • Support the lunchroom staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Given a structured routine, can perform these duties independently.

  • Current student of Lionsgate Academy and will be for the entire school year.

  • Enrolled full time as a junior (11th grade) or senior (12th grade) at Lionsgate Academy for the entire school year.

  • Schedule must allow student to be here from 11:20am-1:10pm on A or B Days.

  • Applicants must adhere to the Lionsgate Academy Attendance Policy.

  • Professional conduct and ability to follow Lionsgate Academy policies as found in employee handbook.
