Raytheon Field Engineering is currently seeking a VLS Shipboard Test Engineer to perform Installation, Configuration, Activation, Stage Testing, and Advanced Troubleshooting for all Raytheon and non-Raytheon equipment connected to the TSCEI network and the MK57 Vertical Launching System. Shipboard testing activities will be conducted on-site at Pascagoula MS, during ship systems activation, test and At-Sea periods.
The VLS Test Engineer will function as a technical member of the Shipboard Test Team interacting with a variety of stakeholders including reporting to the Shipboard Test Lead, along with interacting with System Integration and System Test Management, Navy Agencies, Navy Labs, Zumwalt Prime Contractors and selected major vendors. This position will require up to 30% travel to testing and activation locations, to include at-sea periods onboard Zumwalt class ships.
What You Will Do
  • Perform equipment installation, checkout, testing, reporting of results, Hardware and Firmware upgrades and maintain records as required.
  • Conduct integration of HW, Stage Testing activation, and sell-off of MK57 system.
  • Interact with both Zumwalt shipbuilders and their vendors in a collaborative manner
    Provide daily internal status reports to the Shipboard Test lead.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Engineering and customer representatives.
  • Provide underway system support for at sea test events.
  • Perform normal climbing and lifting associated with shipboard electronic work.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Vertical Launching Systems (VLS) MK57 and or MK46 experience to include installation and maintenance.
  • Electrical background experience.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • MK57 or MK46 Certified Cardholder.
  • Unix or Linux software background.
  • Experience operating and testing naval radars.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience supporting multiple disciplines, and flexible travelling to support the radar.
  • Prior experience working onboard ships

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
