Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Virtualization Systems Administrator to support a complex, multi-site IT infrastructure based in Tukwila, Washington. This role is centered around Red Hat Linux-based High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters and includes support for secure lab environments, classified networks, and future integration of embedded Linux systems like VxWorks. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement secure system architectures using best practices in software and systems engineering
  • Provide end-to-end IT support across desktops, servers, and virtualized environments
  • Manage system access, patching, and hardware/software release planning
  • Administer and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and automate tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell)
  • Support classified networks and ensure compliance with RMF/JSIG security standards
  • Integrate and maintain applications and infrastructure in secure environments Basic Qualifications: - Active TS/SCI with a CI Polygraph (CI Poly within the last 5 years)
  • 5+ years of experience supporting lab/test environments and classified networks
  • Strong background in Linux and Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with IT hardware, networking equipment, and HPC systems
  • The ability to stand up virtual Linux environments
  • Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months) Preferred Qualifications: - Deep experience with RHEL, Windows Server/Desktop, VMware, and Active Directory
  • Experience with Embedded Linux
  • Familiarity with Group Policy Objects (GPOs), PowerShell scripting, and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with system backups, patching, and COTS software
  • Knowledge of RMF/JSIG compliance and secure system integration Compensation: - Salary: $140,000 - $205,000 (based on experience and education)
