Job description

We are seeking a Senior Linux Systems Engineer with extensive experience managing enterprise Linux environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, automating, and supporting highly available Linux infrastructure while ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. This role requires expertise in Linux administration, automation, provisioning, and enterprise infrastructure best practices.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Deploy, administer, and maintain enterprise Linux operating systems across production and non-production environments.
  • Design and support highly available, fault-tolerant Linux infrastructure to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain automated Linux provisioning and configuration management processes using enterprise tools and technologies.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to improve stability and efficiency.
  • Perform system upgrades, patch management, security hardening, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to support enterprise platforms and business-critical applications.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system standards.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and production support activities.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience managing Linux operating systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise Linux administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience deploying and supporting highly available and fault-tolerant Linux server environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux provisioning, automation, and configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Experience with shell scripting and Linux automation.
  • Understanding of security best practices, patch management, and system hardening.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
