We are the leading provider of worldwide smart end-to-end supply chain & logistics, enabling the flow of trade across the globe. Our comprehensive range of products and services covers every link of the integrated supply chain – from maritime and inland terminals to marine services and industrial parks as well as technology-driven customer solutions.

The Senior Linux Engineer is a technical leader responsible for setting the strategic direction, architectural standards, and operational excellence of the organization's Linux, storage, and hybrid cloud platforms. This role operates at the intersection of infrastructure architecture, business enablement, and engineering execution, ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient platforms that support enterprise workloads across data centers and cloud environments.

The role requires deep technical expertise combined with strong leadership, influence, and communication skills. The engineer acts as a trusted advisor to business units, IT leadership, and engineering teams, translating business objectives into sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Key Accountabilities

Platform Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and evolve the enterprise Linux, storage, and virtualization strategy aligned with business, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish architectural standards, design principles, and reference implementations for on-premises, hybrid, and cloud platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership in infrastructure modernization initiatives, including automation, software-defined infrastructure, and hybrid cloud adoption.
  • Guide platform decisions with a strong understanding of licensing, cost optimization, scalability, and long-term supportability

Linux & Systems Leadership

  • Own the enterprise Linux platform roadmap, including Red Hat and Oracle Linux ecosystems
  • Set governance and best practices for system builds, lifecycle management, patching, and configuration consistency
  • Act as the escalation point for complex system issues, leading root cause analysis and long-term remediation strategies
  • Ensure system capacity, performance, and availability meet current and future business needs

Storage & Data Platform Direction

  • Lead the design and evolution of enterprise storage solutions across SAN, NAS, and software-defined platforms
  • Define data protection, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies for primary and remote data centers
  • Evaluate emerging storage technologies and vendor offerings, driving adoption where they provide measurable business value
  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to influence roadmaps and ensure platform alignment

Automation, Orchestration & Reliability

  • Champion infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code principles to reduce operational risk and improve delivery speed
  • Define standards for orchestration, configuration management, and repeatable deployments across environments
  • Drive improvements in reliability, resiliency, and operational efficiency through proactive design and tooling

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership

  • Serve as a senior technical advisor to business units across the Americas, aligning infrastructure capabilities with business outcomes
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders
  • Lead customer-focused testing initiatives and present outcomes, risks, and recommendations with confidence and clarity
  • Provide transparent communication during incidents, changes, and major initiatives

Leadership, Mentorship & Collaboration

  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth
  • Promote a culture of accountability, documentation, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate closely with application, cloud, network, security, and operations teams to ensure cohesive platform delivery
  • Influence without authority, driving alignment across geographically distributed and multicultural teams

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Own technical relationships with infrastructure and cloud vendors.
  • Evaluate new features, technologies, and services, providing recommendations grounded in business value and operational impact.
  • Coordinate vendor engagement for escalations, lifecycle planning, and roadmap alignment

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure, including Linux, storage, virtualization, and data center environments
  • Proven experience operating at a senior or lead level, influencing platform direction and technical standards
  • Deep expertise in Red Hat and Oracle Linux, including RAC and enterprise workloads
  • Strong background in storage technologies (SAN, NAS, SDS, backup and recovery platforms such as Commvault and Veeam)
  • Hands-on experience with hybrid and public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), including architecture, security, and operations
  • Experience with virtualization, container platforms, and automation frameworks (Ansible, IaC)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex problem resolution and make sound risk-based decisions
