Overview
DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Senior Systems Architect (AWS/Linux) to support our U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) Integrated Booking System (IBS) program. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing enterprise system architectures across cloud and on-premise environments, with a focus on AWS and Linux-based systems.
The Senior Systems Architect will lead infrastructure design and system integration efforts supporting mission-critical transportation and logistics systems. This position ensures that system environments are scalable, secure, and aligned with DoD standards and USTRANSCOM objectives.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in AWS cloud services, Linux system administration, and enterprise architecture, with the ability to lead technical teams and support complex system environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and implement enterprise system architectures across AWS and hybrid environments
  • Lead deployment and configuration of Linux-based systems (RHEL or similar) in cloud and on-prem environments
  • Architect and maintain AWS infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, and security services
  • Support system integration across multiple environments, ensuring interoperability and performance
  • Develop and implement automation solutions for system provisioning and configuration (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
  • Ensure systems meet DoD security requirements, including STIG compliance and RMF alignment
  • Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability through monitoring and tuning
  • Support migration of systems to AWS GovCloud, including architecture design and execution
  • Collaborate with Cloud Architects, DevSecOps teams, and developers to ensure infrastructure supports application needs
  • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues across environments
  • Maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, and configuration baselines
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to system administrators and engineering teams
  • Support accreditation activities by providing system architecture input for RMF packages

Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE preferred)
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, architecture, or infrastructure roles
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, etc.)
  • Expertise in Linux system administration (RHEL preferred)
  • Experience designing and managing enterprise-scale system architectures
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and system integration principles
  • Experience supporting RMF and STIG compliance
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system and infrastructure issues
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting USTRANSCOM or DoD transportation/logistics systems
  • Experience working in AWS GovCloud environments
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps environments and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery architectures
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, RHCSA/RHCE)
