Principal System Administrator

Raytheon Digital Technology Solutions Design & Integration – Advanced Technology & Integration Center (SDI-ATIC) TEDNET Environment – Tucson, AZ (Testing, QA, "Sandbox" Environment)

The Raytheon Solutions Design & Integration (SDI) team is seeking Principal Systems Administrator to be a member of the Advanced Technology & Integration Center (ATIC) team. This 100% onsite position.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server internals and/or Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory (AD), and server replication methods.
  • Manage and maintain VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Work as a team member as well as independently in a fast-paced technological environment, leveraging troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical issues of moderate to high complexity, including hardware and operating system (OS) integration.
  • Install, configure, update, and manage system hardware, storage, backups (e.g., servers, workstations, transceivers, network interface cards).
  • Document hardware and software configurations, procedures, and other necessary artifacts.
  • Provision and configure new systems for internal customers, ensuring alignment with defined requirements as needed.
  • Perform rack-and-stack activities and manage hardware inventory, ensuring completeness and accuracy as needed.
  • Understanding data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
  • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
  • Full time 100% Onsite position.
Qualifications You Must Have :
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent, or a master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a maintain a U.S. government-issued secret security clearance. U S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience in automation and scripting for system deployment (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Experience in Windows or Red Hat client-server environments, including server replication methods and configuration.
  • Experience with application installation, configuration, and deployment in multi-server environments.
  • Hands-on experience managing and using VMware vCenter, vSphere, VDI (Horizon), ESX, or other virtual computing methods.
  • Must have Windows or Linux experience systems administration experience.
  • Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, MySQL, networking administration experience.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with Containerization Technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration\Continuous Delivery Tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF, data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment
  • In-depth working experience in Windows Server
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions
  • Scripting Experience

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
