JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Systems Administrator plays an important hands-on role in supporting the performance, security, and reliability of the organization's technology environment. Working closely with the IT team, this position helps maintain and improve enterprise systems, cloud services, network services, endpoint platforms, and core security controls across on-premises and cloud environments. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work, support day-to-day operations, participate in technology improvements, and make a visible impact across the organization. This is an onsite role with a daily in-person presence to support operational needs and team collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Enterprise Infrastructure Support - Administer, maintain, and enhance enterprise servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and core infrastructure in a hybrid environment.
  2. Cloud & Identity Platforms - Collaborate with the IT team to support cloud services, identity and access management, collaboration platforms, and endpoint management systems.
  3. Network Administration - Maintain, secure, and troubleshoot core network infrastructure, including secure remote access technologies.
  4. Security Operations - Assist with implementing and maintaining security controls, endpoint protection, patching, and remediation activities.
  5. Monitoring & Continuity - Participate in monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, upgrades, and ongoing infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  6. Automation & Scripting - Use scripting and systems management tools to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  7. Technical Troubleshooting - Serve as a technical resource for resolving infrastructure, cloud, network, and security issues.
  8. Documentation & Collaboration - Document systems, procedures, and solutions; collaborate with IT staff and business stakeholders to support reliable service delivery.
  9. Compliance & Audit Support - Support compliance efforts, audit readiness, and operational continuity for critical systems.
  10. Additional Duties - Perform other responsibilities as assigned by IT leadership.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field or an equivalent combination of technical training, certifications, and relevant experience required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of five (5) years of systems administration experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with enterprise servers, virtualization, storage, and hybrid infrastructure platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud services, identity and access management, endpoint management, and enterprise collaboration platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of networking, system security, patching, access controls, and endpoint protection practices.
  • Experience using scripting or automation tools to improve efficiency and support routine administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, cloud, network, and endpoint environments.
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, monitoring, and operational support for critical systems.
  • Strong communication, documentation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in mid-sized or complex enterprise environments preferred.
  • Cloud, infrastructure, networking, or cybersecurity certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with infrastructure improvements, system upgrades, or technology modernization initiatives preferred.
  • Experience with modern security, monitoring, and device management practices preferred.
  • Experience working in collaborative IT teams that support a mission-driven organization preferred.
