Job description

Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a SCADA Applications Systems Administrator. The System Administrator for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Applications is responsible for the administration, maintenance, configuration, monitoring, and support of SCADA-related applications and supporting environments. This role ensures the reliability, availability, security, and performance of mission-critical operational systems that support supervisory control and data acquisition functions. The position works closely with project managers, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, infrastructure teams, vendors, and customer representatives to sustain and enhance SCADA application environments in accordance with operational and compliance requirements. The role also requires the ability and willingness to learn and support PI Historian and related data collection and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and support SCADA applications and associated software environments.
  • Monitor application health, system performance, and availability to ensure continuous operations.
  • Install, configure, patch, and upgrade application components, servers, and supporting tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, interface, and environment issues in a timely manner.
  • Support user account management, access control, and system security in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Coordinate and implement approved system changes in accordance with configuration management and change control processes.
  • Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, configuration baselines, and operational records.
  • Support backup, recovery, continuity, and disaster recovery procedures for SCADA application environments.
  • Assist with system integration, testing, validation, and environment readiness for deployments and updates.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support interconnected systems and learn to administer and supportPI Historianand related operational data tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience may be applicable.
  • As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C).
  • Must be able to pass a federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in systems administration, application administration, or technical support for enterprise or operational systems.
  • Experience supporting SCADA applications, industrial control systems, or other mission-critical operational environments.
  • Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL for system support, troubleshooting, and data validation.
  • Understanding of system lifecycle management, configuration management, change control, and the importance of accurate documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability and willingness to learnPI Historian.
  • Must be able to present acceptable identification for customer badging and site access, such as a REAL ID compliant driver license, U.S. Passport, or other approved document from the GSA Required Identification List.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience supporting SCADA, HMI, data acquisition, or industrial operations applications.
  • Familiarity with Oracle or other enterprise database platforms.
  • Knowledge of scripting for administration and automation.
  • Experience with version control and configuration management tools.
  • Experience supporting system testing, validation, and release activities.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity practices for operational technology or critical infrastructure systems.
  • Experience with NERC CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection) standards and compliance requirements is a plus.

Salary: $65,000 - $68,000
