Torch Technologies is seeking a motivated Linux System Administrator with a strong background in Linux and security. Must be able to work in a team environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills both oral and written; exhibit the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, work environment servicing multiple organizations. Off Hours support may occasionally be required as mission dictates.

Some of the primary responsibilities will include:

  • Implement and maintain Linux system configurations and security settings in accordance with DISA STIGs requirements.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in compliance with security protocols.
  • Administer and maintain GitLab environment, including user management, repository configuration, and CI/CD pipeline support.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Utilize ACAS to conduct regular security scanning, system patching, and vulnerability remediation to maintain a high-security posture.
  • Perform routine backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up and recoverable.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for installation, configuration, and security procedures.
  • Work with a team to troubleshoot and resolve complex system, network, and application issues across both Linux and Windows platforms.

Job Requirements:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years related Linux systems administration experience within classified environments.
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to apply, OPSEC principles, PHYSEC measures, and professional conduct required for working within secure environments.
  • Proven experience working in a mixed operating system environment, with demonstrated expertise in both Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server.
  • Experience and certifications related to virtualization technologies, such as VMWare.
  • Must meet, or willing to obtain, industry requirements for system administrator duties, including:
    • CompTIA Security+ Certification(or higher-level certification).
    • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)or higher-level Red Hat certification.
  • Experience with security best practices, including ACAS scanning, patching, and the application and maintenance ofSTIGs.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Must have an Active current Top Secret Clearance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
  • Previous experience operating within Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and Special Access Program Facilities (SAPF).
  • Direct experience with log centralizing technologies, such as ELK Stack or Splunk.
