Job description

Job Title:- Cloud System Administrator
Duration:- 8+ Months
Location:- Atlanta, GA
Description:
The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for supporting production and lower-level AWS environments utilizing Linux operating systems, as well as Google Workspaces and in the future Azure environments may be included. The SA will work closely with CM resources as well as BAs, QAs, and developers to ensure the successful delivery of solutions in a secure and stable environment. This role will provide technical expertise and function as a technical resource to Dev-Ops teams. The SA will be the subject matter expert in Dev-Ops for the Linux environment and will assist in technical understanding of incident management and problem management for Windows and Google environments. A primary part of the role is to work closely with the change management team on backup, patching, and support processes. The SA will function as a primary team member in the analysis, interpretation, and presentation of performance measures with regard to the Linux environments, as well as a key member in tools integration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate application deployments, upgrades, and changes with the relevant configuration management, application development teams, business stakeholders, and leadership, define the upgrade and communication plan for the system's users, and send out upgrade, informational, and outage notifications.
• Assist customer agencies in configuring AWS, Google Workspaces, and Azure accounts.
• Deploy the AWS architecture for Software Development tools including infrastructure, storage, compute, connectivity, and necessary configuration to ensure robust 24x7 availability and uptime.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of a robust patching and monitoring process and implement it across all Dev-Ops-supported environments.
• Implement robust operational monitoring for all tools in scope by working with the QLIK team to develop and maintain publicly visible dashboards and application availability status, ensuring alerting is sent to appropriate stakeholders in case of an application or infrastructure outage.
• Regularly assess and maintain Security standards including, patching, hardening, and use of standardized images.
• Contribute to incident management investigation and root cause analysis when tools or applications are affected, implement corrective and preventive actions; ensure the team is represented on IT outage bridges and communication channels when appropriate.
• Personally manage secure Linux servers in the data center and in AWS according to appropriate Federal and State guidelines (TIBCO).
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, highly dynamic environment.
• Adaptive learner and always open to working on new tools and technologies.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and demonstration of critical thinking
• Monitors integration activity using the system console and reports abnormal behavior to management.
• Provides Tier-1 and Tier-2 support and participates in rotational on-call customer support.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate or higher post-secondary education degree in programming/systems or computer science AND Three (3) years of system administration experience OR High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED) AND a minimum of six (5) years of system administration or related work experience.
• 2 years' experience supporting commercial or government accounts in AWS.
• 6 years of demonstrated experience in System Administration Support in Linux or Unix
• 3 years of demonstrated shell scripting experience (ksh, bash, etc.)
• 3 years of demonstrated experience with configuring Sudo scripts.
• 5 years of Linux operations & administration skills
• 3 years' experience utilizing AWS monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Guard Duty,
Centralized Logging, etc.)
• 2 years experience managing Linux/UNIX operating systems in an AWS heterogeneous environment.
• 3 years experience troubleshooting Linux/UNIX issues in a virtual server environment
• 2 years experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)
• 2 years experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
(Preference will be given to candidates who, demonstrate some or all of the following skills/experience)
• Good knowledge of Cloud infrastructure management in AWS, Azure, and Google Workspace.
• Experience with the common cloud environments, with a strong understanding of infrastructure as code
• Windows operations & administration skills, in AWS or Azure
• Google Workspace configuration and support experience
• Scripting experience in Terraform is a PLUS.
• Experience with Application support, managing infrastructure, monitoring and etc.
• Demonstrated history of working with code* suite of AWS tools.
