Job Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer with strong Unix/Linux system administration experience to support, build, automate, and maintain enterprise-scale infrastructure environments. This role focuses on on-prem and virtualized Linux platforms, automation, patching, security, and operational stability in a 100% onsite, production-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
Unix/Linux System Administration
  • Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Unix/Linux servers, including:
  • SUSE
  • AIX
  • RHEL
  • CentOS
  • Perform UNIX system builds, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
  • Provide L2/L3 operational support for production and non-production systems.
Automation & Configuration Management
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and Python.
  • Utilize Ansible to automate deployments, configuration management, and operational tasks.
  • Support infrastructure automation and provisioning using Terraform (preferred).
Patch & Systems Management
  • Manage OS patching and lifecycle using:
  • RedHat Satellite
  • IBM NIM
  • SUSE Manager
  • Ensure systems remain compliant with internal security and operational standards.
Virtualization & Platform Operations
  • Administer and support virtual machine environments, including:
  • VMware
  • OpenShift
  • Perform VM cloning, migration, provisioning, and remote administration.
Networking & Connectivity
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues using strong knowledge of:
  • TCP/IP
  • DNS
  • SSH
  • Network routing and system-to-system communication
  • Support distributed system environments.
Security & Compliance
  • Implement and maintain OS hardening, access controls, and patch compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to security best practices and internal compliance policies.
