Working closely with engineering, operations, and architecture teams, this individual will help accelerate the modernization and scalability of Comcast's core network infrastructure while ensuring operational excellence across multi‑vendor environments.

Responsible for supporting the engineering, automation, and lifecycle management of core network infrastructure. Contributes to the deployment, augmentation, modernization, migration, and retirement of critical network devices that support Comcast's core network environment. Uses networking, software development, and automation expertise to design and improve platforms, processes, and tools that streamline device lifecycle activities, configuration management, compliance validation, operational reporting, and large‑scale network deployments. Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable automation solutions that enhance network reliability, operational efficiency, and service delivery.

What You’ll Do
  • Support the full lifecycle of network infrastructure, including deployment, upgrades, migrations, modernization initiatives, capacity expansion, and decommissioning activities.
  • Develop and maintain Python‑based automation solutions for network provisioning, configuration management, validation, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with network audits, configuration validation, compliance reporting, and large‑scale configuration deployment across multi‑vendor environments.
  • Analyze network telemetry, operational data, configurations, and system logs to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and improve network performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, architecture, and software development teams to integrate automation, telemetry, and data‑driven workflows into network operations.
  • Support network changes, software upgrades, and infrastructure transformation initiatives while ensuring operational stability and deployment quality.
  • Build and enhance automation frameworks for network validation, anomaly detection, testing, deployment assurance, and lifecycle management.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, release management, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting network automation platforms.
  • Document network systems, processes, automation workflows, and operational standards to support scalable and efficient operations.
  • Provide technical recommendations and support strategic initiatives focused on network growth, modernization, reliability, and performance.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in networking, systems engineering, network automation, or related infrastructure roles.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, subnetting, OSI model, packet flow analysis, and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, and EIGRP.
  • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and routing issues while supporting network device configurations in multi‑vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for network automation, operational tooling, data processing, and workflow optimization.
  • Familiarity with network audits, configuration deployment, compliance validation, and network automation frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps concepts including CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, infrastructure‑as‑code, and exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of SQL and/or NoSQL databases and the ability to analyze network telemetry, configuration data, and operational datasets to drive network performance and reliability.
  • Relevant industry certifications preferred, such as CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent networking certifications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to learn quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering, operations, and business teams.
  • Nice‑to‑have experience with AI/ML‑assisted tools, network simulation platforms, or lab environments used for testing and validation.
